WWW Wednesday 06/27/18

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m currently reading…

The Death of Mrs. Westaway, by Ruth Ware. Ruth Ware is one of my weird, guilty pleasures. There are generally aspects of her books that bother me, but at the same time, I find myself unable to put them down. I’ve just started the audio book for this one, and I’m completely sucked into it.

Frederick Douglass, Prophet of Freedom, by David W. Blight. This is an ARC I’m reading on my Kindle. At 896 pages, it may be a while before a review goes up on this one. I’m a little over 10% into it, and it’s been very informative and engrossing so far. Anyone who enjoys history and biographies may want to check this one out.

I recently finished reading…

Circe, by Madeline Miller. This book was so immensely enjoyable. You can read my review here. Miller has really brought the mythology to life.

The Pearl That Broke Its Shell, by Nadia Hashimi. This book follows Rahima in modern-day Afghanistan, as well as one of her ancestors. Both women are connected through struggles with gender, family, and destiny. A review of this should be up tomorrow!

Next I’ll be reading…

Battle Royale, by Koushun Takami. This was the last book on my June TBR, and at this rate, it may get pushed to July. I’ve been prioritizing ARCs and haven’t been able to get to it.

The Wife Between Us, By Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen. My library hold on the audio book for this one just came through. I picked this out at the suggestion of some of my book club members; it doesn’t sound like something I’d normally choose for myself. Fingers crossed that I don’t regret it!

    1. I just started The Death of Mrs. Westaway yesterday and I’m already about 4 hours into the audio book. If you’ve read and liked any of Ruth Ware’s other books, I think you’ll like this one. Unless it goes downhill very fast from here, this may be my new favorite of her books. 🙂
